Party with Ubuntu

Ubuntu Tamil Team (ubuntu-tam.org) arranged a Tea party Yesterday.

  1. Ubuntu Tamil Team has grown up to its Third Year.
  2. Ubuntu Kaipidi Thozharkal (HandOver Friends) Inaguration
  3. Release of Ubuntu 8.04 Hardu Heron

Me and Thanigai reached the woodlands hotel after a bit of searching.

We expected more people as it was announced in the ChennaiLUG, but little crowd was there.

Party started with chatting.

We ordered Tea, Coffee and chat items.

Meanwhile, Badhri explained the needs of Tamil Software like Dictionary, Spellchecker adn Open Source software required for mobile phones. He requested the open source developers to develop more applications for Symbion Os for mobile phones.

Then, Dakshna Murthy naratted his experions with organizations on relieving people.

Amachu announced that Ubuntu Tamil Team has reached its third year and “Thangamani Arun” is appointed as New Manager for Ubuntu Tamil Team.

Amachu shows his new KDE 4 enebled Laptop.

Badhri tried Ubuntu in his Laptop and expressed his comments.

Amachu started to show the Ubuntu CDs for Distribution.

Amachu Handed Over Some Ubuntu CDs to Dakshna Murthy.

Arun Handed Over to Thanigairajan.

Thse volunteers will start their own Hand Over Project to their friends and relatives to propagate ubuntu to all over the world.

Then we had some fun time too. We ordered more snacks.
There we designed new Ubuntu Logo.🙂

How are the Logos? Shall we recommend to Ubuntu?

Then, Amachu explained the things needed to do for Tamil Ubuntu Team.

  • New software should be deeloped for collecting tamil carpus for dictionary and spellchecker.
  • More writers and articles needed for Kanimozhi.
  • More ubuntu developers should raise from india.
  • Ubuntu Tamil Team has donated 10$ for Drupal and wikimedia Foundation.

Finally he announced that “Amachu is elected as a Team member of Ubuntu Developer Selection commity for Asia and Australia“.

We have to bring more ubuntu developers from India. Amachu promised that he will arrage training sessions to become Official Ubuntu Developer for students and developers.

Then, we started to dissolve. Thus, we had a great evening with Ubuntu tamil Team.
