Google Voice Chat in Ubuntu 9.10

Wow.

After years of waiting, Linux got the Google voice chat.

The new Ubuntu 9.10 karmic koala has brought the tool “Empathy“. It has the built in facility to have voice chat with google talk users.

Now I am talking with google talk users.

Thanks to the community.

  1. What about the quality of the voice? while i checked with ubuntu 9.04 , i got voice breakage. What about now? Any version updation on empathy?

  2. I tried empathy in 9.04, but voice did not work, but after upgrading ubuntu installation to 9.10 it is working fine. Very good voice quality.

    • Hi,

It is tough to get the voice chat in ubuntu 9.04 as it will involve getting some software in source and solve all dependencies manually, then compile all the code.

ubuntu 9.10 comes will all needed packages. So, it is wiser to move to ubuntu 9.10

      Thanks.

  3. Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about
this, like you wrote the book in it or something.
I think that you could do with some pics to drive the message home a little bit,
but other than that, this is fantastic blog.
A great read. I will certainly be back.

  4. Hello. . I added a simple slide show on my blog but i don’t really like it and someone told me that the slide show i’m looking for is flash and i was wondering… Are there any ready flash slideshow widgets that i could use? Or if not, is there a simple way to create a flash slideshow to your blogspot?.

  5. My brother suggested I might like this web site. He was entirely right.
This post actually made my day. You can not imagine just how much time
I had spent for this information! Thanks!
