How-to Fix Citrix Receiver issues at ubuntu?

Issue:

When we have to connect to some client network via citrix, we can not do in linux.

open in firefox

icons are loaded. on clicking any icon, it opens in new tab as HTML5 client. but opens empty page.

open in chrome

.ica files are downloaded.

Fix:

install citrix receiver deb pacakges.

https://www.citrix.com/downloads/workspace-app/linux/workspace-app-for-linux-latest.html

download Citrix Workspace app for Linux (x86_64) deb packages and install it.

sudo dpkg -i icaclient_13.10.0.20_amd64.deb

it installs on /opt/Citrix/ICAClient

/opt/Citrix/ICAClient/wfica is the citrix client. open the ica file with that

/opt/Citrix/ICAClient/wfica <WEEXXXX.ica>

It gave the below error.

Cannot connect to “0.0.0.2 - Published app name” in Citrix Receiver (ICA Client 13.10.x)

as per https://stackoverflow.com/questions/53062679/cannot-connect-to-0-0-0-2-published-app-name-in-citrix-receiver-ica-client

su
cd /opt/Citrix/ICAClient/keystore/cacerts/
wget https://dl.cacerts.digicert.com/DigiCertHighAssuranceEVRootCA.crt --no-check-certificate
curl https://support.comodo.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/GetAttachment/969/821026 > comodorsacertificationauthority.crt
exit

then,

cd /opt/Citrix/ICAClient/keystore/
sudo rm -rf cacerts
sudo ln -s /etc/ssl/certs cacerts

tried the above.

now it gave another error.

No CGP Service: contact your help desk with the following information. CGP handshake with server failed.

The quick and dirty solution is to turn off Ubuntu firewall by issuing:

sudo ufw disable

Then, open the citix dashboard on chrome. click outlook. it downloads ica file. now click the same ica file. now it opens up on new windows.

Yei. it works.

Thanks for the awesome open source contributors for making things work.
